The Pirate's Daughter by Margaret Cezair-Thompson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
The plot revolves around Jamaica, diversely spread from land to sea. This is the story of doomed youth of illegitimate generation not only in the country, but the whole world. May, Ida, Esme all suffered for not being a pure, neither a white nor a colored. The story is about unbalanced relationships in a world of Power. Life is lost in Lust and Ganja. Errol Flynn, the so called hero of the novel seeks only for "One Night Relationship". Obsessed by his reputation, he tries to recover his damaged soul with love. Ida mesmerized by the entry of the handsome man, gives her life to him. But he flees away from her.On the contrary Karl believes in life time love. Ida fails in identifying true Karl, But her daughter, May succeeds in the end in her quest of finding true love...
